Gmail on Integrations is for sending mail: campaign and nudge email, automation notifications, and the Send email agent tool. It is not your support inbox. To receive and reply to customer email in Conversations, connect the Email channel.

Prerequisites

  • A Google account you are allowed to send from
  • Permission to add integrations on the project

Connect

1

Open Add Integration

In the project sidebar, select Integrations, then Add Integration. Select Connect on the Gmail card.
2

Authorize Google Account

Sign in with Google and grant email send access.
3

Finish

Complete the wizard until you see Gmail Connected!

Verify

On Integrations, the Gmail row shows Connected.
Send a test from an automation or the Send email tool to an address you control, and confirm the message arrives from the Google account you authorized.

Use it

Agent tool

Enable Send email on chat AI Configuration or a workflow Tools tab. Select this Gmail connection. The agent can then send a message when the conversation needs a follow-up, link, or confirmation.

Campaigns, nudges, and automations

Where the dashboard lets you pick an email connection, choose this Gmail integration. Automations can notify a teammate or customer by email using the same connection.

Limits

  • Gmail here does not create an inbox thread in Conversations. Use the Email channel for two-way email.
  • Google may revoke access if you change password, disable the app, or hit Google sending limits. Reconnect from Integrations if send starts failing.
  • You must select this connection on the tool or automation. A connected Gmail row is unused until you pick it.

Troubleshooting

Enable Send email, select this Gmail integration, and confirm the connection is Connected. Ask the user for a valid email address if the tool reports a bad recipient.
Connect Email under Channels. Gmail on Integrations only sends outbound mail.
Allow pop-ups, complete the Google consent screen, and try Connect again. Use the same Google account you intend to send from.
