Verify phone (OTP) sends a one-time SMS code and checks the code the customer returns. OTP simply means “one-time password.” You do not pick a project Twilio send number in the Tools tab. The platform sends the verification SMS.

Open Tools

Open the workflow, select an Agent, Supervisor, or Task, then open Tools.

Turn it on

Under Verification, enable Verify phone (OTP). There is no extra configure dialog.
In a test, provide a phone you control, request a code, and complete verification.
This confirms ownership of a number. It does not send arbitrary SMS. For conversation texts, use Send SMS.
