Facebook Messenger connects Page inbox messages. Customers message the Page; threads appear in Conversations.

Prerequisites

  • A Facebook Page you can manage
  • Permission to complete Facebook login and grant Page messaging
  • Permission to create channels

Connect

Open Channels

In the project sidebar, select Channels. Select Facebook Messenger.

Authorize Facebook Account

Sign in with Facebook and grant Page messaging access.

Choose a Page

Select the Facebook Page for this channel.

Finish

Complete the wizard until Messenger is connected. The identifier is the Page name or Page ID.

Verify

Send a Messenger message to that Page from another Facebook user. It appears in Conversations.

Use it

Inbound Messenger uses this channel’s workflow. Disconnect from Channels if you need to attach a different Page.

Limits

  • You must pick a Page you administer.
  • Facebook can revoke the token; reconnect if messages stop.

Troubleshooting

Allow pop-ups, use an admin of the Page, and grant messaging permissions.
Confirm you are an admin of at least one Page, then authorize again.
Confirm you messaged the connected Page and the channel is enabled.
