# Broadcasts

> Send approved WhatsApp templates to contact lists on a schedule

**Broadcasts** send an approved WhatsApp template to one or more contact lists. Broadcasts is a sibling under **Outreach** (not a WhatsApp hub tab). Every broadcast still uses the hub connection, numbers, templates, and opt-outs.

## Prerequisites

* WhatsApp connected and a **CONNECTED** number on [Overview](/docs/outreach/whatsapp) and [Numbers](/docs/outreach/whatsapp/numbers)
* At least one **approved** [template](/docs/outreach/whatsapp/templates) (not catalog or multi-product — those cannot be sent from broadcasts yet)
* At least one contact list with recipients ([Lists](/docs/outreach/lists) under Outreach)
* Meta payment method on the WABA

If WhatsApp is not connected, Create Broadcast sends you to Overview. Opted-out numbers are suppressed.

</Check>

## Lifecycle actions

From the broadcasts table you can launch, pause, stop, resume, relaunch, clone, open settings, and view the report. Confirm dialogs explain whether pending recipients are cancelled or the send window continues.

<Note>
  Finish phone registration in the WhatsApp hub before a number can send broadcasts. Catalog and multi-product templates are blocked on create with a clear error.
